Privacy notice

How we handle your personal information, written plainly. If anything here is unclear, ask us — that is easier for both of us than guessing.

Who we are

Bakhsh Consultants, 167–169 Great Portland Street, London W1W 5PF, regulated by the Immigration Advice Authority under registration F202200106 at Level 2. We are the data controller for the information described here. Contact info@bakhshconsultants.co.uk or 020 3834 9768.

What we collect, and when

If you book an appointment

Your name, mobile number, and anything you choose to tell us about what you need help with, together with the booking itself — which adviser, and when. If you book by WhatsApp, your message reaches us through WhatsApp in the ordinary way and Meta's terms apply to that part.

Our booking system is provided by AsaanBook, which processes this information on our instructions and for no other purpose.

If you become a client

Advising on an immigration matter means handling information about your nationality, immigration history, family and circumstances. Some of that is special category data under UK GDPR. We collect only what the matter requires, we use it to advise and represent you, and we use it for nothing else.

If you leave a review

A rating, an optional comment, and the display name you choose. Reviews are checked before publication and you decide the name shown — use initials if you would rather not be identifiable.

Why we are allowed to hold it

  • To provide what you asked for — the advice, the representation, the appointment.
  • Because the law requires it — our regulator sets record-keeping obligations we must meet.
  • Because you agreed — for a published review, and you can withdraw that at any time.

Who else sees it

  • The Home Office and the courts, where your matter requires it.
  • The Immigration Advice Authority, our regulator, if it audits us.
  • Our booking and email providers, which hold it only in order to run those services.

We do not sell your information and we do not share it for advertising.

How long we keep it

Client files are kept for at least six years after a matter closes, which is what our regulator and our insurers require. Enquiries that never became a matter are kept for a much shorter period. Ask if you would like the specifics for your own file.

Cookies and this website

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, no advertising network and no tracking pixels. That is why you are not asked to accept anything when you arrive — there is nothing to accept.

Fonts are served from this website rather than from Google, so reading a page does not tell a third party that you were here. That matters more than usual on a site like ours: the fact that somebody consulted an immigration adviser is itself sensitive.

The map on our contact page comes from Google and loads only if you press “Show map”. Until you do, nothing is requested from Google at all. If you press it, Google will see your IP address and may set its own cookies.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you may ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we are not obliged to keep it, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict its use. Write to info@bakhshconsultants.co.uk and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you told us first, so we can put it right.
